Located in the very heart of uptown Lisbon, the Regency provides awe-inspiring views that range from St Georges castle, to the cathedral and the magnificent Tagus River. A meal or breakfast on the terrace thus becomes a truly memorable occasion. The panorama and central location alone thus make this hotel an excellent location for a city-based holiday or business trip. The Regency, however, offers more than this alone. The building itself rose from the ashes of the great fire of Lisbon in 1988 and has been innovatively designed as part of the urban redevelopment of one of Lisbon’s noblest quarters – the Chiado. The end result is that now it is a classical fasade on the outside and an exotic interior that takes in a blend of the oriental, colonial Portuguese and modern styling.
