Hotel description
| Address: |
CAMPO SANTA MARIA FORMOSA CASTELLO 5240 VENICE Italy |
The origins of the palazzo that hosts the Hotel Scandinavia go back deep in time. The building dates from the year 1000. The palazzo was renovated in the 16th century by the Trevisan family, a wealthy merchant dynasty, that lived in it for generations. In the Fifties, the Tinacci family transformed the palazzo into the Hotel Scandinavia, managing to preserve the atmosphere of an ancient Venetian residence handed down through the centuries. The Hotel windows provide a stupendous view: to the building's left is the Church of Santa Maria Formosa, whose name is linked to an ancient legend.
