Hotel description

CASTELLO 3404 A VENICE Italy |
The fifteenth century Zorzi-Liassėdi building is an elegant example of Venetian gothic architecture which was built on the foundations of a previous medieval structure. Its facade is dominated by a splendid mullioned window with six lights framed in decorations and inserted between two couples of windows. The balconies of the first floor have some overturned columns and for this reason this building is also known as The Zorzi Building with the crooked columns. The name Liassėdi is that of the Cypriot family who owned the building up until the beginning of the 1900's. The recent restoration work has given the building back its ancient splendour, while equipping it with the most modern technology as regards safety and comfort. The entrance from Calle della Madonna leads into the courtyard, a small area that is filled with jasmine and lemon plants and that is overlooked by the lobby of the hotel, a combination of Italian design and the elegance of an ancient Venetian home. The heart of this exclusive hotel in Venice is the large banquet hall on the piano nobile. On the ground floor, the Hotel has its own water access directly from the San Lorenzo Canal. The Liassidi Palace Hotel is situated in the Castello quarter, in the heart of what is still an authentic Venice where places, sounds and atmospheres have conserved their own identity, which the inhabitants guard closely.
