The lovingly polished wooden furniture has been hand made right down to the soap holders and towel racks in the excellent shower rooms. During the renovations some Roman artifacts were discovered; fragments of amphorae, ceramics and majolica dishes can be seen in the gardens. This is a wonderful spot to explore on foot or by bike (mountain bikes are provided free of charge - as are archery and bocce). Santa Maria Degli Ancillotti is set on a verdant hillside with panoramic views over the plain and Assisi. Perugia is only 20 minutes away and just a little further are Montefalco and Spello. Santa Maria Degli Ancillotti offers you also possibility you walk with horses or bikes for paths of Regional Park of Mountain Subasio.
