Hotel description
| Address: |
VIA GARIBALDI 64 SORAGNA Italy |
Located about an hour’s drive south of Milan’s Linate airport, the Locanda del Lupo makes a convenient stop if you plan to drive directly south toward Florence. Soragna is a sleepy little town in the countryside whose main point of interest is a walled, medieval fortress. Around the central plaza, buildings of great character are interspersed with modern construction. The Locanda del Lupo, built in the 18th century by the noble Meli Lupi family, is just a block off the plaza and easy to find. The inn is best known as a gourmet restaurant: there is a series of beautiful dining rooms with gleaming copper hanging from whitewashed walls, terracotta floors, dark-beamed ceilings, antique clocks, and 17th-century oil paintings. To the left of the reception area is a cozy bar and, beyond, a formal living room furnished in antiques. A flight of stairs leads to the guestrooms whose old-world ambiance is enhanced by beamed ceilings, tiled floors, and thick walls. Each bedroom is individually decorated and exudes a refined, country-house atmosphere.
