Just a few steps away from Milan's landmark Duomo cathedral, the Spadari al Duomo hotel boasts a spirited atmosphere. By incorporating the work of local artists, a carefully chosen and discriminating range of individual tastes was combined to form an integrated whole. The foyer fireplace and wall sculpture are by Gio Pomodoro, an Old Master sculptor. The pastel-shaded fresco painting in the "American Bar" is by Valentino Vago and serves as a frame for an extensive collection of Italian earthenware. The furniture and decorations, as well as the hotel's series of lights and iron creations, bear the signature of designer Ugo La Pietras himself. So does the large bar which is popular during the evening hours. Overall, the art serves as a backdrop to the hotel's otherwise functional design and friendly service.
