This noble building, once the residence of the Demidoff family, with its fortunate and quiet position on the Lungarno Vespucci, has seen as its guests, Petr Ilic Cajkowskij who remembered in “Souvenir of Florence” the impressions from his period in Florence; as well as Leon Tolstoi who stayed here during some winters in the late ‘800. The building has an incomparable view of the Arno river. The Hotel Consigli has always been the “home” of the young and now most famous orchestra directors of the world. The theatre of the “Maggio Musicale Fiorentino” is opposite neighbour; Important stars, artists, and music lovers have always found their refuge in this romantic building.
