Asian hospitality at North American Shangri-La hotels
“Tigers”, a group of young hoteliers who have spent two
years in Asia, have returned to North America to implement their Asian
hospitality experience at the hotels which are to be opened in the region. The
first North American Shangri-La hotel will open in Vancouver 24 January
2009.
Launched February 2006, The Tigers Programme is an initiative aimed to
prepare for the group’s expansion in North America. In the course of the
programme young North American hospitality professionals were sent to the
company’s hotels throughout Asia to immerse into the Asian culture, understand
traditional service and bring back what they have learnt to the Shangri-La
properties which are currently being constructed in New York, Las Vegas,
Toronto, Chicago, Miami and Vancouver. When opened, the hotels will provide
their guests with exceptional Shangri-La
service,
built on respect, courtesy, sincerity, helpfulness and humility.
