Sri Lanka is becoming more and more popular
2007 was a successful year for the tourism of Sri Lanka. After tsunami in
2004 the industry experienced hard times, but now the situation is going better
and better.
The most foreign tourist to Sri Lanka are coming from the UK.
It’ no surprise as Britain had a colony here and still has strong connections
with the country. March 2008 saw an 11.9% growth in holidaymakers year on year
from the UK market.
The total increase in amount of the tourists is 8.6
%. For the first quarter, the largest increase came from the Middle East, with
incredible 80.6%.
