Luxurious resort at Lombok Island, Indonesia
Dubai-based Emaar Properties plans a luxurious resort for the Central
Lombok Island in Indonesia. Set on the 1175 hectare territory, the resort will
include 7 km natural waterfront, golf court, luxurious hotels and residences,
and retail amenities. The project will cost US $600 million, preliminary works
start in April.
Mr Mohamed Ali Alabba, Emaar Properties Chairman, commented that “Lombok is
one of the most promising tourism destinations in Indonesia and has the potential
to be the magnet for world-travellers.” Central Lombok Island is thought to
be one of the best destinations for diving and surfing. The island’s largest
city is Mataram.
