Czech castles open their doors to visitors
This year, due to the Easter holidays, castles and fortresses of the
Czech Republic will be opened two weeks earlier than they usually do. The date for
the Catholic Easter this year is March
23rd, and traditionally a flow of tourists
is expected into the country for the holiday.
The following castles will open their doors to visitors this
week-end: Hluboka Nad Vltavou (pictured) 140 kms from Prague (South Bohemian Region), Cesky Krumlov, Kost Castle (not far from Karlovy Vary ), and
Konopiste castle 50 kms south-east of the capital. As for the latter, a visit
with children is recommended: the castle’s main “attraction” - Kazimir bear – is
already awake from his winter dormancy.
