Site supporting Emergency Call Number 112
Poland launches an internet site that supports the European Emergency
Call Number 112. The site www.112.gov.pl is available in Polish nd English,
French version is to appear as well.
The site gives information about 112, how to use it and when to
call 112. It also contains information on other emergency numbers in Poland and
information that could be useful for tourists and locals
alike.
One of the site’s pages contains a section called “Do not call
the 112”. The name speaks for itself. It says that you shouldn’t dial the number
to check your mobile phone, just for entertainment or in cases when there’s
nothing threatening someone’s life like property damage accidents, vandalism,
ruch hours etc. However, “when in doubt, dial it out,” - the site says.
