Terminal 2 opened at Warsaw Airport
Terminal 2 is opened at the former Okecie Airport (now Warsaw Frederic Chopin
Airport) in Warsaw, Poland. The new terminal appeared in the result of an expansion of the old
terminal, now operating as Terminal 1. The terminal is twice as big as the old
one and has the total area of 110,000 square meters. Thanks to this Okecie
Airport will now be able to service up to 12 million passengers a year.
Terminal 2 was opened November 2006, but since construction was still in
process, the terminal handled arrivals only. March 13th first
passengers of charter flights departured from the airport. Regular flights will
operate starting March 20th. Future plans include railway connection
for the terminal. There are also two other terminals at the airport: one for
