Reader-in-residence at Hyatt Andaz, London
The new Hyatt Andaz hotel in London (Liverpool street) encourages you
to read more. April 14 – 28 the hotel hosts an exclusive event called
reader-in-residence, during which hotel guests can invite a professional reciter
to read aloud to them. The event coincides with the London Book Fair.
One of the reciters is the Times’ journalist Damian Barr. Not only will
he read to you, but also diagnose your reading needs and choose the appropriate
books, thus giving you the so-called “bibliotherapy”. However, one rule hotel
guests will have to follow concerns the choice of books: Barr won’t read any of
your personal books. You can only choose literature from the special “book
menu”, provided by the hotel.
The event will finish with a “read-in” organised April
27th at the hotel’s pub. From 11 am to 2 pm
you can bring along a book and read it in a company of other hotel guests.
