Disc- and crescent-moon-shaped hotels will appear in Baku
The capital of Azerbaijan, Baku,
will get two new skyscrapers: one disc-shaped, and another -
crescent-moon shaped. The project is the
brainchild of the Korean company Heerim Architects, who opened their office in
the county in July last year.
Called Full Moon Bay and Caspian
Plus, the two buildings will be constructed on the opposite sides of the Bay of
Baku. Both will have unusual shapes. For instance, Full Moon Bay will look like
a disc with a hole on its top. The building will look differently depending on
the angle it is seen from. The other construction - Caspian Plus, will have the
shape of an arch.
Caspian Plus will house a
32-storied Hotel Full Moon for 221 rooms. Behind the hotel one will find four
high-rise buildings, including three residential ones. Full Moon Bay will
include a 35-storied luxurious hotel with 104,182 square metres of space and 382
rooms.
