Best Goan beach retreats
Goa, the popular Indian travel
destination, once was a refined spot. Nowadays it suffers from the influx of
tourists, however, there are still places to relax at. Guardian suggests the
list of best Goan beach retreats.
In the head of the list there is
a Montego Bay, Morjim, located 30 minutes from Panaji, the state’s capital. Log
cabins and large tents with proper beds surround the 100-year old beach house.
The second is Otter Creek Tents,
Arambol. Cross the 60-metre bamboo footbridge and you will reach three secluded
tents with bamboo four-posters. Some way farther there is one of the best Goan
beaches, where one can enjoy dolphin spotting trips.
Villa River Cat, Mandrem is
situated between a river creek and the ocean. The villa offers free hammocks for
the night in case it is full. Following Villa River Cat is Vivenda dos Palhacos
(Majorda) boutique hotel with such facilities as a bar, swimming pool and
private garden.
And, finally, the fifth position
goes to Pousada Tauma, Calangute with its 13 laterite villas, pool and lush
gardens. You can stroll or take a rickshaw to get to the Calangute
beach.
