Art works at Terminal 5, Heathrow Airport
British Airways has commissioned young artists to adorn its luxurious suites and
halls at Terminal 5, (Hethrow airport, London) with art works. The hall now contains a
moving 8-metre wallpaper and a kinetic sculpture in the form of a cloud which
changes several times a day. No less impressive is the design of its suites and
Kidzones, which feature glass screens with ephemeral works. The terminal’s
boutique-style suites are fitted with environmentally-friendly materials.
The British Airways lounges at Heathrow are now among the most
luxurious airline lounge complexes in the world, offering accomodation to 2500
passengers. Some names of the project participants are: Artwise Curators,
Christopher Pearson, Troika, Oona Culley, Robert Orchardson and El Ultimo Grito.
