Wizzair increases baggage fees
Following new baggage fees introduced by Ryanair, Wizzair, a
Polish/Hungarian low-cost airline, increases its fees for checked-in baggage as
well. The fees will now be twice more expensive. Thus, each baggage item will
cost 6 Euros when booking in advance and 12 Euros when checking in right at the
airport. The rule took effect February 1st. 2008.
The maximum weight for checked-in baggage is 20 kilograms. As for
the cases when the weight of all the checked-in baggages combined exceeds these
limits, passengers must pay an extra fee. The total weight for each baggage
article must not exceed 32 kilograms, passengers are allowed to bring a maximum
of 10 kilos of baggage on board.
The airline is mainly focused on Central European markets. Its
main base is in Pyrzowice, Poland.
