Sheraton and Four Points get smoke-free
Starwood Hotels & Resorts announced that more than 300 Sheraton and Four
Points hotels in the USA, Canada and the Caribbean will become smoke-free. For
this approximately 8000 smoking rooms will undergo an extensive cleaning
process, which includes cleaning of soft goods, carpets etc. and treating hard
surfaces. The company will also replace air filters and air conditioning units
in its rooms. Public areas will get completely smoke-free as well. Smokers will
be provided with outdoor smoking areas.
The first brand to introduce the non-smoking policy was Westin. As expected,
Sheraton and Four Points will get completely smoke-free by 31 December 2008.
