A Guide to the Waterfalls of British Columbia
A unique Guide to the Waterfalls of British Columbia
appeared in Canada. The encyclopedia is based on research that has been for 12
years carried out by Tony Greenfield from the province. Tony visited the most
remote, most inaccessible waterfalls. He arranged information about 253
waterfalls, including Hunlen Falls, near Bella Coola and Helmcken Falls, Wells
Gray Provincial Park. The only waterfall that the traveler did not manage to get
too was Cariboo Falls in the centre of British Columbia. Some of the waterfalls
mentioned in the guide have already disappeared: they went dry during dam
constructions and for other reasons.
The Canadian traveler
has some “followers”, who founded World-Waterfalls.com, the first international
database of waterfalls. The waterfalls mentioned on the site are divided by four
different grading systems: by scenery, absolute magnitude, visual magnitude and
Beisel Waterfall Ranking.
