First five-star hotel for Birmingham
American hotel operator Starwood Hotels &
Resorts announces the plans for the opening of the first five-star
hotel in Birmingham –
198-room Westin Hotel and Spa.
Westin Birmingham will open its doors in the beginning of 2010. It will become
the first Westin in England and the second in the United Kingdom (after Westin
Turnberry
in
Ayrshire). It will also be the tenth Starwood hotel in the county. The hotels of
various Starwood brands - Sheraton, Le Meridien, St Regis and Luxury Collection
already exist in London, Heathrow,
Edinburgh
and Ayrshire.
