New hotel rooms are planned for Sydney
According to recent reports Sydney is suffering
from the lack of hotel rooms. Some forecasts predict 16 % rise in amount of
tourists by 2016. It means that the largest Australian city will need some 3200
new rooms.
The lack of the rooms is not the only problem – another one is
that Sydney has few cheap hotels. Nowadays the most of the foreign visitors to
Sydney are business tourists, who are not too much worried about room rates, but
as the flow of the leisure tourists is growing, the problem becomes more
serious.
To solve all these problems the government is planning to build new hotels
and (if possible) to lower the prices for the existing hotels.
