Slovenia receives more tourists than ever
 According to statistics during the first five months of
the year the amount of the tourists coming to Slovenia has reached 873 678, 10 %
increase compared to the same period in 2006. All in all they spent 3 million
nights in the hotels (8 % more than a year before).
The most of the tourists come to Slovenia from Italy (21
%), Austria (16 %), Croatia (11 %), United Kingdom (6 %), Hungary (3 %), Russia
(3 %) and Serbia (3 %).
Health tourism is the most important segment of the travel industry.
Slovenian sanatoriums occupancy has achieved its maximum – about 240 000 visited
these resorts this year.
