Ayo. 29 November 2014. Theatre Simone-Signoret
Finish the month of November in a sunny reggae mood. Ayo, the daughter of Nigerian father and Romanian mother, who spent his childhood in Germany, received great success with her 2006 single “Down on My Knees”. Her colourful background permeates throughout her songs, while her music absorbed the best from the European, Asian, American and African styles. Some call her a soul singer, others say it’s rock music with the elements of reggae. Sometimes even the most unusual mixtures come up: jazz and ska, house and reggae. The artist appears to be pretty prolific, as four albums have been released since 2006. Her debut album, “Joyful”, is platinum in Germany and Poland, and is twice platinum in France. She is also the UNICEF patron since 2009. Discover Ayo’s talent November 29th at the Theatre Simone-Signoret, in the Conflans-Sainte-Honorine commune north-west of Paris.
