Even more cultural offers at Amsterdam hotels

Amsterdam is truly a versatile city: from canal boat tours to museums, from nightclubs to the Red Light District, there are numerous places to visit. Don’t forget that 2013 is also a very important year for this city as it celebrates 400 years anniversary of its Canal Ring and the reopening of the Rijksmuseum. There will be therefore many interesting events organized in Amsterdam. We offer you some curious hotel packages that will help you save some time while planning your visit to Amsterdam.

As you know, this year the national Dutch museum, Rijksmuseum, reopens after renovation. The date of the reopening is April 13th, and starting April 14th you will be able to visit the museum’s vast collection of paintings from the Dutch Golden Age. But there is another important milestone to notice: the 100th anniversary of Grand Hotel Amrath. And to celebrate these two important events, the hotel offers its truly extensive Rijksmuseum package. For a price that starts from €170 you get an overnight stay at the hotel, plus Champagne at its bar/lounge, luxurious breakfast, the use of its bicycle for one day, free entrance to the Spa centre and the most important thing - three visits: one to the Rijksmuseum, another to the Coster Diamond Museum (guided tour included) and a 70 minute canal cruise. You can book more than one night for an additional payment.

Triple Dutch Experience at Hotel Amsterdam De Roode Leeuw. From €230 for 2 nights

The Netherlands are not only famous for their art, canals and flowers. It is also a home to delicious though simple cuisine that is known for its fish, vegetable dishes and stews. Moreover, it’s known for its own alcoholic drink jenever and other strong liquors. Hotel Amsterdam De Roode Leeuw invites you to discover the taste of the Dutch cuisine at one of the oldest tasting houses in Amsterdam - De Drie Fleschjes, and the hotel’s own restaurant. The Triple Dutch package includes a drink at De Drie Fleschjes (jenevers and traditional Dutch liquors), a three course dinner at the Restaurant De Roode Leeuw and breakfast every day of your stay. A minimum two night stay is required.

Keukenhof Flower Package at Hotel Okura. From €302.50

Spring is the synonym to flower blossom, green colours and lots of sun. With the arrival of this season the luxurious Hotel Okura has launched a new package that can be booked until May 20th 2013. Starting from €302.5 per room per night, it suggests you visiting the Keukenhof, the largest flower garden in the Netherlands (and the whole world), also known as the Garden of Europe. If you choose April for your visit, you can look at the beautiful tulips in full bloom. The package includes a 1 night stay at the hotel, breakfast at Le Camelia, transportation to the Keukenhof and a visit to the flower garden. Note that your visit will not be individual. The tour starts at 7.50 a.m. when you will be picked up by the touring car at the hotel. Other tourists will join you at the city center. Finally, you will head to the Keukenhof at 9.30 a.m.

Amsterdam Cultural Canal Package at Moevenpick Hotel. From €231

A boat tour around Amsterdam canals is one of the most important points in your cultural trip to this city. Especially if you take into consideration the fact that the city’s 17th century canals (in the very heart of Amsterdam) are included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Moevenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre, located directly by the river IJ, is a perfect starting point for your canal tour as it offers the Amsterdam Cultural Canal Package which includes an overnight stay with views over the Harbour, buffet breakfast at the Silk Road restaurant, free use of the hotel’s sauna, fitness and health club, free wireless Internet, shuttle service to the Central Station and, finally, the 24 hour I Amsterdam City Card. 400 Years of Canals Package at The Dylan. From €750

The Dylan also suggests you a visit to the city canals, but in a special way – by a paddle boat. This is not the cheapest package to choose from, however, note that it includes luxurious accommodation and some great extras like the daily buffet breakfast, a Lunch Plate with water (1 glass of wine and coffee included), a special tulip vase from the hotel and a paddle boat trip on the canals or free use of the Dylan bicycles. A two night stay in a Luxury Double Room for two guests is included. Note that the package is only available from April 1st 2013 to June 30th 2013.
