Best business hotels in Amsterdam
As the capital of the Netherlands, Amsterdam hosts a great number of meetings, conventions, forums and other events every month. Its RAI Convention Centre is visited by up to 2 million people annually. That is why the city hotels provide business guests and organizers with a good choice of meeting facilities while their rooms represent a great escape from the hectic routine of business life. We present you the list of the best business hotels in Amsterdam.
Hotel Okura Amsterdam. From €185
Okura Amsterdam is a luxurious and comfortable escape for people of importance heading to Amsterdam for business. Despite high rates, it provides you with a relaxing atmosphere, excellent friendly service and a vast choice of facilities both for meetings and for rest. A pillow menu guarantees a good night sleep while free WiFi helps you keep in touch with your dearest ones and solve work troubles quickly. The hotel’s location makes it number one choice for the visitors of the RAI Convention Centre as it is just a 10 minute walk from it. Organizing your event is also easy at the hotel itself since it offers as much as 2700 sq.m. of meeting space.
The Toren. From €240
Although it’s choice of meeting facilities is not that big, the Toren is rated #1 business hotel in Amsterdam by the Tripadvisor members, and for good reason. Boasting a quiet yet central location by the canal and in a five minute walk from the Dam Square, it provides a great setting for relaxation and rest. Rooms are rather small, as expected from a central hotel, but offer great amenities like big room safe (you can keep your laptop safely there), 42" LCD TV and big bathtubs in some rooms. Breakfast is good, but a bit overpriced. What you will like is the elegance of the hotel’s style and its overall atmosphere. There is a small but fashionable conference room for up to 16 persons in case you want to organize your meeting here.
Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam. From €335
Sofitel is another luxurious address in Amsterdam and a place to organize your meeting at if you want to impress your delegates. The choice of conference facilities is great: from the historical meeting rooms like the Aldermans or the Council Chamber, to the more formal spaces at the Princenhof Meeting & Convention Centre, there is something for every type of event. The hotel is located close to the Red Light District, but that should not put you off since the historic part of the city is also in just a few steps. And since it occupies a historic mansion, it boasts a great ambience while its modern design features keep in line with the Sofitel brand. Another good feature is the rich breakfast with choices enough to fill anyone with energy. But mind that the number of the parking spaces is limited.
Crowne Plaza Amsterdam City Center. From €159
Crowne Plaza is an internationally-branded hotel that could be a good value for money for event organizers. Located in a walking distance from the city centre and very close to the Centraal station, it offers meeting facilities for up to 270 delegates, or 8 various meeting rooms. Owners of the Priority card can enjoy some discounts like the 10% discount on food and drinks from the restaurant. The club lounge is a perfect place for relaxation and mingling with the others. Some complaints about the hotel: the WiFi is rather expensive (about 20 Euros a day) and slow, and there is noise coming from the other rooms, especially when the TV sets are switched on.
The Dylan. From €300
The Dylan is not the cheapest place in Amsterdam, however, you cannot think of a better spot if you want to spoil yourself, impress your delegates or make your event very special. There is a choice of facilities for both official meetings and festive events. The smallest of them hosts 8 persons only while the largest – and the most impressive one, the secluded garden, can accommodate up to 175 people for cocktails and parties. The location is central, but not too noisy. The food is great at all the dining facilities, from the Brasserie to the Michelin-starred Vinkeles restaurant. The WiFi is fast throughout the hotel. The Dylan is located near the canal, so if you need some relaxation, views from the room are probably what you are looking for.
Moevenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre. From €201
The Moevenpick hotel is located by the harbor and therefore many tourists choose it for its great views. However, it won’t take you too long to get to the city centre while the free shuttle bus is an excellent way to get to the main train station. The choice of the hotel conference facilities consists of 12 flexible meeting rooms for up to 450 persons (a total of 912 sq.m.). the parking is rather expensive if you travel by car, but there are discounts for event guests. Free high-speed internet provided.
Novotel Amsterdam City. From €119
Choose Novotel Amsterdam City if you want a room right by the RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre. This is a four star member of the international Novotel chain, and as such, it provided you with international quality for reasonable prices. The choice of its conference facilities is good while the [email protected] concept makes organization of your event a bit easier. Food at the restaurant is tasty and as an alternative there is a coffee shop and a snack bar offered. Free WiFi is fast enough. The only drawback is that the breakfast is a bit too early: till 9.30. All in all, this is a great conference hotel and a good value for money.
To summarize our story, Amsterdam has lots of great hotels suitable both for the grandiose events, like Sofitel, The Toren or the Dylan which will cost you €200-€300, to a more reasonably priced ones, like the Crowne Plaza and the Novotel for less than €200. There are hotels located close to the RAI Conference Centre. Those are the Hotel Okura and Novotel Amsterdam City.
